Legal notice

Legal Notice

Last Updated: August 10, 2026

This Legal Notice applies to the Harlow Pet website and all products and services offered through it.

By accessing or using this website, placing an order, submitting personalisation information, or purchasing a product from Harlow Pet, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the applicable terms, policies, and notices governing your purchase.

1. Statutory Consumer Rights

Nothing contained in this Legal Notice, our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, or any other Harlow Pet policy is intended to remove, restrict, or override any statutory rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable UK law.

Products supplied to UK consumers must comply with applicable legal requirements, including requirements concerning conformity with description, satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose, and other applicable statutory rights.

Where applicable law provides a consumer with a remedy, that remedy will remain available regardless of any conflicting wording in our policies.

2. Online and Distance Sales

Harlow Pet operates as an online retailer. Orders placed through our website may constitute distance contracts and are subject to applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

Before completing a purchase, customers should carefully review:

  • The product description;

  • Product specifications;

  • Price;

  • Delivery information;

  • Personalisation requirements;

  • Shipping charges;

  • Our Terms of Service;

  • Our Refund Policy; and

  • Our Shipping Policy.

By placing an order, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to review this information before completing your purchase.

We will provide confirmation of the relevant contractual information in a durable form, such as email, as required by applicable law.

3. Personalised Products

Certain Harlow Pet products are individually personalised using photographs, names, text, or other information submitted by the customer.

Because these products may be made specifically according to your individual requirements, the statutory cancellation right that normally applies to distance purchases may not apply where the applicable legal exception for goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised applies.

This does not affect your statutory rights if a personalised product is faulty, defective, materially different from what was ordered, or otherwise fails to comply with applicable consumer law.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all photographs, names, spelling, text, and other personalisation details submitted with an order are accurate.

Harlow Pet is not responsible for errors in personalisation information supplied incorrectly by the customer, except where the error was caused by Harlow Pet or where applicable law provides otherwise.

4. Right to Cancel

Where UK law provides a consumer with a statutory cancellation right for a distance contract, that right will apply in accordance with the applicable legislation.

For eligible non-personalised goods, customers generally have a statutory cancellation period of 14 days from receiving the goods, followed by a further 14 days to return them after notifying the trader of cancellation.

This statutory right is separate from any voluntary return or money-back guarantee that Harlow Pet may offer.

Where a statutory cancellation right does not apply, our Refund Policy will determine whether a voluntary return is available.

5. Product Condition

Where a product is being returned under a statutory cancellation right, the customer may handle the goods only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning, similar to what would ordinarily be permitted in a shop.

Where the value of the goods has been diminished through handling beyond what is reasonably necessary, Harlow Pet may have rights to make an appropriate deduction where permitted by applicable law.

For voluntary returns outside statutory cancellation rights, the stricter eligibility requirements contained in our Refund Policy will apply.

6. Faulty, Damaged, or Misdescribed Products

Nothing in our policies prevents a customer from exercising statutory rights where a product:

  • Is faulty;

  • Is damaged;

  • Is not of satisfactory quality;

  • Is not fit for the purpose for which it was supplied;

  • Does not correspond with its description; or

  • Otherwise fails to comply with applicable UK consumer law.

Harlow Pet will assess such claims in accordance with applicable law and our applicable customer-service procedures.

A customer's statutory rights are not dependent on the product being returned within a voluntary 30-day return period.

7. Fraud and Abuse

Harlow Pet takes fraudulent and abusive activity seriously.

We may investigate claims involving:

  • Fraudulent refund requests;

  • False damage claims;

  • False non-delivery claims;

  • False defect claims;

  • Repeated or abusive return activity;

  • Payment fraud;

  • Chargeback abuse;

  • Use of unauthorized payment methods;

  • Product substitution;

  • Return of a different product from the one supplied;

  • Intentional damage;

  • Manipulation of promotional offers;

  • Misrepresentation of order information; or

  • Other conduct reasonably suspected to be fraudulent or abusive.

We may request reasonable evidence or documentation when investigating a claim, including photographs, videos, order information, delivery information, or other relevant information.

Any investigation or verification process will be conducted subject to applicable law and will not remove any statutory consumer rights.

8. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

If you believe there is an issue with an order or payment, please contact Harlow Pet before initiating a payment dispute where reasonably possible.

Where a chargeback or payment dispute is initiated, Harlow Pet may provide the relevant payment processor, card network, or financial institution with transaction records and other information reasonably necessary to respond to the dispute.

This may include:

  • Order information;

  • Payment records;

  • Shipping information;

  • Tracking information;

  • Delivery confirmation;

  • Customer communications;

  • Return records; and

  • Relevant product information.

Nothing in this section prevents a customer from exercising a legitimate right to dispute a transaction.

9. Personalisation Content

When submitting photographs, artwork, names, text, or other content for personalisation, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to provide that content to Harlow Pet.

You must not submit content that:

  • Infringes another person's intellectual property rights;

  • Violates another person's privacy or publicity rights;

  • Is unlawful;

  • Is fraudulent;

  • Contains malicious software;

  • Is defamatory, threatening, or abusive; or

  • Otherwise violates applicable law.

Harlow Pet may refuse to process content that we reasonably believe violates applicable law, our policies, or the rights of another person.

10. Pricing and Website Errors

We take reasonable steps to ensure that product descriptions, prices, promotions, availability, and other information displayed on our website are accurate.

However, occasional technical, typographical, pricing, inventory, or other errors may occur.

Where permitted by law, Harlow Pet reserves the right to correct such errors and take appropriate action regarding affected orders.

Nothing in this section permits Harlow Pet to disregard a contract or consumer right where applicable law requires otherwise.

11. Shipping and Delivery

Our standard processing and shipping timeframe is 4–7 business days, as described in our Shipping Policy.

Carrier delivery times are separate from processing and shipment times and may vary.

Harlow Pet remains responsible for complying with applicable legal requirements concerning delivery and consumer remedies.

12. Limitation of Liability

Harlow Pet does not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing in this Legal Notice limits liability for matters that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law, including applicable statutory consumer protections.

Any limitation of liability contained in our Terms of Service is subject to this Legal Notice and applicable law.

13. Third-Party Services

Our website may use third-party services, including payment processors, shipping providers, analytics services, advertising platforms, hosting providers, and other technology providers.

Third-party services may operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Harlow Pet is not responsible for matters outside our reasonable control arising solely from a third-party service, subject to any rights and remedies available to you under applicable law.

14. Intellectual Property

All Harlow Pet branding, logos, product names, product photographs, graphics, written content, designs, website content, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, scrape, modify, sell, republish, or commercially exploit Harlow Pet content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

15. Governing Law

These terms are intended to comply with applicable UK consumer protection requirements.

Where a UK consumer contract is subject to mandatory UK consumer protection legislation, those statutory protections will apply regardless of any conflicting contractual wording.

Nothing in this Legal Notice prevents a consumer from exercising a legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
